We’ve put our heads together with like-minded orgs to bring the Get Outside! Kids Club to Saskatoon.

Regular nature learning opportunities should be made available and accessible to all kids in Saskatoon. We are heel-clickin’ excited to be involved with launching the Saskatoon edition of the Get Outside! Kids Club.

In partnership with the City of Saskatoon, Nature Saskatchewan, SaskOutdoors, and Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association, we are excited to bring monthly FREE outdoor learning opportunities to Saskatoon.

The Get Outside! Kids Club will provide opportunities for families with kids between the ages of 6 and 13 and their parent/caregiver to learn, connect and care for the different naturalized and green park spaces across the City of Saskatoon. These learning sites will range from important wetland habitat at Hyde Park or the Northeast Swale, to afforestation sites like Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation, and neighbourhood parks with substantial habitat zones such as James Anderson Park and Lakewood Park.

Each month during the school year, the Get Outside! Kids Club will showcase and facilitate ecological learning and stewardship opportunities at a different naturalized park or green space within the City of Saskatoon. The Get Outside! Kids club events are approximately two hours long, and feature hands-on, experiential and nature-based learning activities. Our goal is to support families in developing meaningful nature connections to the special ‘nearby nature’ sites we visit.

Kids must attend with a caregiver, and caregivers must register in advance for the specific date(s) they wish to attend. The registration process includes signing a waiver and medial release form once per calendar year.

Months we will be operating the Get Outside! Kids Club are: June 2023, Sept 2023 - April 2024. Our last Get Outside! Kids’ Club is on April 20th - join us!

If you would like to volunteer for this program, please email info@wildernook.com and begin the process of obtaining your criminal and vulnerable sector report from the Saskatoon Police Service.

Thanks for your enthusiasm for the Get Outside! Kids Club Saskatoon.
