Pop-up Nature Play - Nov 22nd (PD Day)

  • Wildernook Fresh Air Learning (map)
Forest School

Reclaim your Monday morning work time while your child outdoor adventures with us right here in the city.

Monday, Nov. 22nd

Ages 6 - 8yrs old

This program is designed to be a convenient way to build nature immersion and play-based learning into your child’s week. This Forest School style program promotes respect for our natural environment and a sense of well-being in nature. Our leaders look for opportunities to help develop nature connection, confidence, self-esteem, social skills, physical ability, and independence. This program is led by a certified teacher, with additional Outdoor Education and Forest School training.

Children benefit from the freedom to move their body how they choose. We provide children with freedom of movement and choice as well as opportunities for leadership, social play and to decompress. Whether kids are drawn to climb or collaborate on a building project or gather or flop down on the ground to observe a critter at work, we honour where children’s minds and bodies are at in the moment and support them in articulating and initiating experiences that best suit them.

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Dates: Nov. 22nd, but we are happy to offer this in future PD Days too!

Location: Gabriel Dumont Park

Price: $38.00/3 hour session

We maintain a leader to child ratio of 1:5

Requirements:  Participants need to have a backpack, warm insulating winter clothes, base layers, toque, neck-warmer, wool or synthetic socks, winter boots, snacks, water bottle and a foam pad to sit on.  This is an active program and participants should be in good physical condition to enjoy themselves (e.g. able to comfortably walk for 60 minutes).

 Our Covid-19 Response Includes:

  • We are following Saskatoon Public Schools and Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools Covid-19 safety protocols. At this time wearing masks outdoors during our programs is a family decision, which we will support.

  • Covid-19 stay-at-home if sick requirements are in place.

  • We use hand sanitizer before and after snack and after washroom use.

  • We facilitate individuals spreading out to eat. We ask that all toys be left at home.
