Rotating locations to introduce you to a variety of ideal urban parks to play in.

Waving fingers through reeds, gathering and tucking cones into secret spots— Nature Tots provides a joyful opportunity for caregivers to explore and nurture their sense of wonder together.

The Nature Tots program engages both adult and child in a variety of seasonal sensory experiences in Saskatoon’s Naturalized Parks (e.g. Meewasin Park, Sanatorium Grounds and Gabriel Dumont Park ). Caregivers (grandparents, aunties & uncles and other caregivers welcome!), will develop their nature mentorship skills through the process.

Nature Tots includes playing with natural materials, using tools (e.g. sticks and buckets) to explore, walking to visit different nooks within the park, playing simple nature games and singing songs.

Locations: Saskatoon’s Urban Parks such as Meewasin Park (Lawson Heights), Gabriel Dumont Park (Buena Vista), and the Sanatorium Grounds (Holiday Park).

I sincerely believe that for the child, and for the parent seeking to guide him, it is not half so important to know as to feel when introducing a young child to the natural world. If facts are the seeds that later produce knowledge and wisdom, then the emotions and the impressions of the senses are the fertile soil in which the seeds must grow. The years of early childhood are the time to prepare the soil.
